Lockington Bamawm United claws way back to fifth on ladder

THE Lockington Bamawm United Cats marked a crucial step to a breakthrough finals appearance in Saturday’s 11th round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote District Football Netball League.

The Jessie Hardess-coached LBU lifted its play in the third term to win by six goals on the way to a 49-43 on Heathcote’s court at Barrack Reserve.

When these clubs met in round two it was Heathcote which won by five goals at Lockington.

Best for the Cats in their win against the Saints included Maddy Atherton, Chelsea Hicks and Annalesa Turner.

Huntly also moved up the ladder after a 16-goal win against Leitchville-Gunbower at Leitchville.

White Hills dominated on its court at Scott Street to score a 70-31 win against Mount Pleasant.

Best for the Lauren Bowles-coached White Hills included Molly Johnston and Danni Wee Hee.

The result between the Demons and Blues meant Colbinabbin climbed to the third rung on the ladder in a round where it had the bye.

Elmore’s hot run kept rolling in a 98-26 result against North Bendigo at Elmore.

 

In Saturday’s round 12 action, North Bendigo plays White Hills at Hibo Hotel Oval in Atkins Street.

Lockington Bamawm United plays Leitchville-Gunbower at Lockington.

Mount Pleasant and Heathcote clash at Toolleen.

Huntly has the bye.

It’s also a rest for Colbinabbin and Elmore who met in the season opener on April 2.

Elmore won on Colbinabbin’s court at M.J. Morgan Reserve.
