Calivil United aims to break Eagles’ winning streak

CALIVIL United will fight to break Maiden Gully YCW’s winning streak in this Saturday’s 15th  round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.

Round 15 in the Loddon Valley FNL is the ‘Simonds Homes Round.

 

It’s a massive test for the Demons as they strive to gain the crucial four points and hold onto a chance of claiming third place from Marong in the run to the finals.

The Calivil United line-up will also be fired up after a six-goal loss at home to Bridgewater.

In the lead-up to the finals, Calivil United is at home to Pyramid Hill in round 16, plays at Marong a week later, and completes the home and away series by hosting Newbridge.

The Eagles have eyes on a 10th consecutive victory on Saturday and will be confident of doing so on their court at Marist College Oval in Maiden Gully.

Last time these clubs met, Maiden Gully YCW soared to a 58-46 victory on Calivil United’s court.

Pyramid Hill is at home at Mitchell Park for its showdown with Mitiamo.

The Bulldogs are on the rebound from a 26-goal loss at Maiden Gully last round, while had a rest because Inglewood is not fielding an A-grade team.

Mitiamo won the round seven match against Pyramid Hill at John Forbes Oval by 35 goals.

Newbridge takes on Bears Lagoon Serpentine at Holloway Air Riverside Oval in Newbridge.

The Maroons played well to finish within 10 goals of Marong at Malone Park last round as Bears Lagoon Serpentine had the bye.

In round seven, Newbridge won 46-23 at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.

It’s a rest for Marong in A-grade, but the Panthers will play Inglewood in the other grades at Malone Park.

Bridgewater has the bye.
