Pyramid Hill braces to play Newbridge

THE ladder-leading Pyramid Hill faces third-placed Newbridge in this Saturday’s seventh round of A-grade netball action in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.

Clubs will mark Reconciliation Round at matches played at Mitiamo’s John Forbes Oval, Maiden Gully’s Marist College Oval, Calivil United, and Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.

The Pyramid Hill and Newbridge match starts at 3pm.

It’s been a great run by the Chelsea Emmerson-coached Pyramid Hill to lead the ladder on five consecutive wins.

Pyramid Hill had the bye after it scored a 54-49 win on Mitiamo’s court in the fifth round.

A Newbridge team jointly coached by Selina Holland and Kristy Gandy makes its way to Mitchell Park after a dramatic victory against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles last Saturday.

The Maroons fought on for a 42-41 victory at Walker’s Doughnuts Riverside Oval in Newbridge.

Massive test for Newbridge in trying to end the Bulldogs unbeaten run.

Another big match will be at Mitiamo where the Superoos take on Bears-Lagoon Serpentine from 2.30pm.

The Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo starts the round in second place on a four-one record.

The Superoos bounced back from a five-goal loss to Pyramid Hill by winning last Saturday’s clash at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval by 64 goals.

Bears-Lagoon Serpentine starts this round clinging to the fifth rung on the ladder.

The Danielle O’Toole-coached Bears have a three-three record.

Latest hit-out for BLS ended in a 63-30 win at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve against Calivil United.

Maiden Gully YCW is home at Marist College Oval to play Marong from 3pm.

The Eagles and Panthers are both on the rebound from defeat.

Crucial contest for the sixth and seventh-placed teams who are a win, but significant percentage behind Bears-Lagoon Serpentine.

The Adam Boldiston-coached Eagles played superb netball at Newbridge last round and will start favourite to take the points.

A Marong line-up coached by Robyn Cunnington was beaten by 26 goals in its home-court clash with Bridgewater.

Calivil United or Inglewood will end their winless run when they play on the Demons court at Calivil Recreation Reserve from 2.30pm.

The Haylee Fawcett-coached Demons were outplayed by the Bears last round.

Capitalising on scoring chances and defending strongly will be a goal for the Demons, and also for the Abbey Hayes-coached Inglewood.

Bridgewater has the bye.
