Bears take points against Eagles at Serpentine
A SIX-GOAL victory strengthened Bears-Lagoon Serpentine’s grip on the fifth rung of the A-grade netball ladder in Saturday’s eighth round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Danielle O’Toole-coached Bears were on their court at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles.
A closely-fought match went the Bears way, 49-43, against the Adam Boldiston-coached Eagles.
Another big match was at Bridgewater where the Mean Machine faced the ladder-leading Mitiamo.
A Bridgewater team jointly coached by Caz Wood and Olivia Collicoat worked hard, but the Superoos had the answers.
At the final siren the Jen Wilson-coached Mitiamo led 53-40.
Although it had home-court advantage at Centre State Scaffolding Oval, Inglewood was outpointed by Pyramid Hill.
The Abbey Hayes-coached Blues were held to a tally of 16 goals as the Chelsea Emmerson-coached Pyramid Hill netted a 63-goal victory.
Newbridge was too strong at home at Walker’s Doughnuts Riverside Oval against Calivil United.
The Selina Holland and Kristy Gandy-coached Maroons won 57-30 against the Haylee Fawcett-coached Demons.
Marong had the bye.

Highlight of the ninth round will be the showdown at Mitiamo’s John Forbes Oval where Mitiamo takes on Newbridge.
Marong plays Inglewood at Marong’s Malone Park.
Maiden Gully YCW Eagles will be on their court at Marist College Oval to play Pyramid Hill.
Calivil United and Bridgewater meet at Calivil Recreation Reserve.
Bears-Lagoon Serpentine has the bye.
