BRIDGEWATER again motored past the 200-points mark in Saturday’s 17th round in Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL senior footy.
The Mean Machine racked up 57 scoring shots in a 207-point win on Calivil United’s ground.
Bridgewater coach Lachie Sharp moved closer to the league record with a 13-goal haul as Oscar McKinley kicked match-high 14 goals in the 231-24 victory.
In a superb start to the contest, Bridgewater scored 13 goals in the opening quarter.
The ladder-leaders added another six goals in the second as Calivil United was scoreless in the first half.
As Bridgewater slotted nine majors in the third the Demons broke the deadlock.
It was a 177-point lead going into the final term.
The Mean Machine kicked six goals in the last as the Sam Maher-coached Calivil United fought to the final siren and added three goals.
It was the McKinley and Sharp show in Bridgewater’s attack.
Other multiple goalkickers were Logan Moss, four; and Mitch Patten, two.
The Demons had four players on target.
Best for Bridgewater were Oscar McKinley, Lachie Sharp, Darcy Wood, Harry Conway, Mitch Patten and Jack Milligan.
Calivil United’s best were Josh Connolly, Rhys Lourie, Henry McCarthy, Sam Green, Corey Walters and Liam Stephens.
The Macorna line-up could not halt Pyramid Hill’s charge to a 95-point victory.
Although the Tigers were in their den at Macorna Recreation Reserve it was the Bulldogs who dominated most of the match.
Pyramid Hill led 29-1 at quarter-time and was up 55-8 at the long break.
The Jarrod Fitzpatrick-coached Bulldogs won the third, 32-10.
Pyramid Hill’s highest scoring quarter was the last where it added 5.3.
At the final siren the Bulldogs led 120-25.
Century goalkicker Jhye Baddeley booted six goals as James Sala slotted three and Harrison Goodes, Mitch Jorgensen and Will Quinlivan added two each.
Alex Cockerell led the Tigers’ attack on two goals.
Pyramid Hill’s best were James Sala, Xavier Emmerson, Zach Alford, Lachlan Sidebottom, Ben Knight and Gavin James.
Best for the Fergus Payne-coached Macorna were Josh Whittle, Fergus Bear, Josh Berryman, Sam, Laing and Toby Whinfield.
Inglewood won every quarter in a 12-goal victory against Newbridge at Inglewood’s Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
The Jackson Hood-coached Blues led 23-3 at quarter-time and 50-11 by the long break.
Inglewood added eight goals in the second half as the Maroons scored four goals.
Mischa Fraillon and Daniel Godden kicked four goals each as Liam Marciano and Ben Morgan booted two in a 108-36 victory.
Newbridge’s attack was led by Zebb Murrell on two goals.
The classy Liam Marciano was best afield for the Blues as Charlie Aitken, Lachlan Ford, Bregon Cotchet, Lachlan Harris and Aaron Lister also played well.
James Blood, Jack McInerney, Zebb Murrell, coach Jayden Cordy, Baxter Ash and Corey Van Aken were Newbridge’s best.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine beat Mitiamo by 47 point at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears were determined not to beaten by the Superoos for a second time this season.
The BLS line-up led 22-2 at quarter-time and then slammed on seven goals in the second term.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine led 67-5 at the long break.
It was a closely-fought third term which went the way of the Bears, 26-19.
The Luke Lougoon-coached Mitiamo finished strongly to score 5.1 in the last as the Bears scored 1.3.
Callum Draper, Andy Gladman and Jacob Murley kicked three goals as Farran Priest and Tanner Rayner added two each in a 102-55 victory for the purple and gold.
Mitiamo’s attack was led by Kobe Galvin on three goals.
Best for the Bears were Nathan Twigg, Tanner Rayner, Tyler Miles, Jack White, Callum Draper and Jacob Murley.
Joey Mizzi, Scott Baldwin, Ryan Clark, Oliver Lythgo, Brayden Baines and Dylan Marshman were Mitiamo’s best.
Marong beat Maiden Gully YCW Eagles by 87 points at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
The Panthers led 35-14 at quarter-time.
Marong blew the game wide open in the second as it scored five goals and kept the Eagles to just two behinds.
Another five goals in the third meant the James Flaherty-coached Marong led 102-26 going into the final quarter.
As the Panthers added 4.6 in the last the Eagles fought on to score 3.1.
Marong was up 132-45 at the final siren.
Ryley Taylor capped a great match with six goals as Cooper Hale slotted four and Shaun Knott added three.
The Panthers had Jack McCaig and Ray McNamara kick two goals.
Tye Bedford booted two goals for the Eagles.
Best for Marong were Jack McCaig, Jimmy Gadsden, Lachlan Lee, Zac Justice, Ryley Taylor and Jacob Ede.
The Eagles’ best were Tye Bedford, Mitch Hill, Mitch Whitham, Anthony Robins and Daniel Russell.
The Maiden Gully YCW Eagles who are jointly coached by Shawn Filo, non-playing, and Angus Monfries, playing, sit in sixth position a win and eight per cent behind Macorna.

In the netball…….JUST who finishes fifth on the A-grade netball ladder will be decided in next Saturday’s 18th round in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL series.
A win by Pyramid Hill and a loss by Inglewood in last Saturday’s round 17 action meant the Bulldogs and Blues are separated by just two points as they sit on the sixth and fifth rungs.
Inglewood faced Newbridge on the Blues’ court at Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
A top contest ended in a 52-48 win for Newbridge.
The Dani O’Toole-coached Inglewood has racked up 10 ½ wins and will play at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve in next Saturday’s play to complete the home-and-away series.
Second in the premiership race the Hayley Martiniello-coached Newbridge heads to Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park for the round 18 showdown.
It’s a must-win match for a Pyramid Hill team coached by Chelsea Emmerson, Amber Dingwall and Darci Tierney.
The Bulldogs will also be sweating on an upset win by the Erin Varker-coached Bears Lagoon-Serpentine win against the Blues.
Pyramid Hill kept finals hopes alive in a 58-42 victory in round 17 on Macorna’s court.
A tally of 40-plus goals was an encouraging sign for the Brooke Allison-coached Macorna which plays at Bridgewater next Saturday.
Results in the other three matches went as expected.
Marong marked a 74-33 win against Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
Was another tough afternoon for the Christie Griffiths-coached Eagles.
The Bridget Willox and Bianca Garton-coached Marong is fourth on the ladder, but takes on the unbeaten Mitiamo at John Forbes Oval next Saturday.
Mitiamo dominated last Saturday’s match in the Bears’ den to claim an 84-28 victory.
The Jen Wilson-coached Superoos are hot favourite to capture a premiership hat-trick.
Calivil United was overpowered by Bridgewater at Calivil Recreation Reserve.
The Annie Blow and Alex Ingram-coached Calivil United worked hard, but Bridgewater was too strong in a 75-41 result.
Third in the premiership race the Carly Wild and Lou Dupuy-coached Bridgewater has locked in a qualifying final berth.
