MITIAMO broke its unbeaten run in a six-goal triumph as the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL marked Indigneous Round across Saturday’s matches.
The Luke Lougoon-coached Superoos took on Bears Lagoon-Serpentine at Mitiamo’s John Forbes Oval in the season’s eighth round.
After a slow start to the contest, Mitiamo worked hard to be within three points of the Bears at quarter-time.
Mitiamo coach Luke Lougoon was back on field after injury and play a crucial role as the match wore on.
The Bears led 29-26 at quarter-time, but it was the Superoos who won the second, 22-18.
In the third quarter it was Mitiamo which took charge.
The Superoos scored five goals and kept BLS to a tally of 1.5.
Up by 21 points going into the final term, Mitiamo’s pressure did not ease up.
The Superoos won the last, 27-12, on the way to a 106-70 victory.
Seth Wright capped a superb match with six goals as Zach Morrison kicked three.
The Superoos had Bryce Laird and Oliver Lythgo add two each.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine’s attack was led by James Bailey, Callum Draper, Jacob Murley and Farran Priest on two each.
Lougoon was best afield and had great support from Mitiamo team-mates Zach Morrison, Ryan Clark, Jordan Baldock, Seth Wright and Lenny Cook.
Best for the Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears were Jaxon Addlem, Nathan Twigg, Callum Draper, James Bailey and Tyler Miles.
It was Mitiamo’s first win since round 15 last season when it won on Newbridge’s turf at Deepcore Drilling Riverside Oval by 63 points.
Inglewood dominated after quarter-time of its clash at Newbridge’s Deepcore Drilling Riverside Oval to win by 70 points.
The Jackson Hood-coached Blues led 6-3 at quarter-time and then slammed on six goals as it kept Newbridge to a tally of 1.3 in the second term.
A 33-point buffer at the start of term three was 51 by the end of it.
Daniel Godden went on to kick four goals and Mischa Fraillon added three in a 91-21 victory for the Blues.
Inglewood had the in-form Bregon Cotchett and Liam Marciano boot two goals apiece.
Was a tough afternoon for the Maroons who were held to a tally of two goals.
Best for Inglewood were Liam Marciano, Ben Morgan, Gabe Nevins, Mischa Fraillon, Bregon Cotchett and Charlie Aitken.
Jon Coe, Dylan Lloyd, Zaiyden Richards, Kobe Friswell, Zebb Murrell and Max Edwards were best for the Jayden Cordy-coached Newbridge.
Pyramid Hill fought back to record a one-point win against Macorna at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.
The Fergus Payne-coached Tigers kept the heat on the Bulldogs all match.
Macorna turned a seven-point deficit at quarter-time into a one-goal lead by the long break.
Quarter three went the way of Bulldogs, 16-15.;
The yellow and black led by five points going into the final term.
Pyramid Hill lifted its play to score four goals as Macorna slotted three.
When the siren sounded the Bulldogs were up 69-68.
Playing on permit, Declan Watson from Hay led Pyramid Hill’s attack on four goals.
The Tigers’ attack was led by Dimitri Fasoulis on four as Fergus Payne, Spiros Sklavenitis and Broden Wishart kicked two each.
Best for Pyramid Hill were James Sala, Ben Knight, Declan Watson, Gavin James, Will Quinlivan and Matt McGannon.
Macorna’s best were Toby Whinfield, Josh Whittle, Sam Whinfield, Kieran Foley, Will Meharry and Spiros Sklavenitis.
Marong won every quarter in an 89-32 victory in the Maiden Gully YCW Eagles’ nest in Maiden Gully.
The James Flaherty-coached Panthers pounced on scoring chances in the first quarter to be up 33-6 by the break.
Marong held a 40-point buffer by half-time.
The Eagles worked hard to limit Marong to two goals in the third, but Maiden Gully YCW rued chances as it racked up six behinds.
It was an eight-goal margin going into the final term.
Marong won the last, 23-14, on the way to an 89-32 result.
Cooper Hale kicked a match-high four goals for Marong as Shaun Knott slotted three and Brad Matthes added two.
There was no multiple goalkicker for the Eagles.
Best for Marong were Jacob Ede, Noah McCaig, Kepler Thomson, Cooper Hale, Shaun Knott and Max Balcke.
The Eagles’ best were Daniel Russell, Mitch Hill, Tye Bedford, Anthony Robins, Isaac Neretlis and Luke Gray.
Maiden Gully YCW is jointly coached by Shawn Filo and Angus Monfries.
At Bridgewater it was coach and gun forward Lachie Sharp who marked his return from injury by kicking eight goals against Calivil United.
The Mean Machine powered to a 33-2 lead by quarter-time and then won the second, 15-2.
After being goalless in the first half, Calivil United goaled in the third as Bridgwater led 87-11 by the last break.
Both teams added 1.1 in the last as Bridgewater led 94-18 at the siren.
Best for Bridgewater were Harry Conway, Tom Broadbent, Darcy Wood, Jack Milligan, Luke Ellings and Josh Martyn.
Rhys Lourie, Jack Maher, Tyler Rasmussen, Josh Connolly, Riley Walsh and Riley Wagner were best for the Sam Maher-coached Demons.

In the netball action…….NEWBRIDGE was too strong for Inglewood in Saturday’s eighth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Hayley Martiniello-coached Maroons outplayed the Blues to record a 56-46 victory on their court at Deepcore Drilling Riverside Oval in Newbridge.
An Inglewood line-up coached by Dani O’Toole worked hard, but could not halt Newbridge’s slick passing from mid-court to attack often enough.
There were some big margins across the league.
Bridgewater scored a 74-44 win at home against Calivil United.
The Carly Wild and Lou Dupuy-coached Bridgewater bounced back from defeat the previous round and ended the round in third place.
Was a tough hit-out for a Calivil United team coached by Annie Blow and Alex Ingram.
Pyramid Hill beat Macorna by 35 goals at Pyramid Hill’s Mitchell Park.
It was back-to-back wins for Pyramid Hill which won at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve in the previous round by 23 goals.
Was a crucial result for a Bulldogs’ team coached by Chelsea Emmerson, Amber Dingwall and Darci Tierney as it fights to claim a top-three finish and double chance at finals time.
Macorna is coached by Brooke Allison.
Unbeaten as it chases a premiership hat-trick, Mitiamo dominated its home game with Bears Lagoon-Serpentine at John Forbes Oval.
The Jen Wilson-coached Superoos scored 88 goals and kept the Bears to a tally of 28.
Was another tough match for the Erin Varker-coached BLS which played Pyramid Hill the previous round.
Maiden Gully YCW Eagles took on Marong at Marist College Oval.
Although it had home-court advantage, Maiden Gully YCW did not take the points.
A Marong team coached by Bridget Willox and Bianca Garton charged to a 52-31 victory.
The Eagles are coached by Christie Griffiths.
