Mitiamo’s super streak on netball court rolls on

MITIAMO’S winning streak in A-grade netball rolled on in Saturday’s sixth round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.

The Superoos took on Maiden Gully YCW on the Eagles’ court at Marist College Oval.

After a hard-fought nine-goal win at home against Marong the previous round, Mitiamo showed it will be tough to beat in this year’s premiership race.

The Superoos achieved their highest goal tally of the season as they won 73-54 against an Eagles line-up which had won at Pyramid Hill the previous round.

It was an extremely close contest between Marong and Bridgewater at Discover Marong Park in Malone Park.

Stung by a 21-goal loss at home to Calivil United the previous round, Bridgewater was under pressure from the Marong Panthers all match.

Goalers for both teams were in superb form as Bridgewater scored a 57-53 victory.

Newbridge’s winless run was broken as the Maroons took the points against Inglewood at Dissy Machinery Oval in Inglewood.

Back on court after a rest the previous week because the club was host to Bears Lagoon Serpentine, Newbridge played great netball from the first quarter until the last to complete a 52-26 victory.

It was a rest for the A-grade team from Calivil United, but the Demons did play Bears Lagoon Serpentine in the lower grades at Serpentine’s Janiember Park.

Pyramid Hill had the bye.

Loddon Valley FNL A-grade netball ladder:

Mitiamo 136 per cent, 24 points; Bridgewater 125, 16; Maiden Gully YCW Eagles 104, 16; Pyramid Hill 126, 12; Calivil United 96, 12; Inglewood 54, 8; Marong 94, 4; Newbridge 75, 4.

Highlight of next Saturday’s seventh round will be Bridgewater up against Maiden Gully YCW at Bridgewater.

Mitiamo takes on Pyramid Hill on the Superoos’ court at John Forbes Oval.

Calivil United hosts Inglewood at 5 Star Stockfeeds Oval in Calivil.

Marong will play Bears Lagoon Serpentine in the lower grades at Discover Marong Park in Malone Park.

Newbridge has the bye.
