Demons fire on Serpentine’s court
CALIVIL United scored a 27-goal victory against Bears Lagoon Serpentine in Saturday’s second round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.
The Demons almost hit the 60-goal mark in the first match of the season on the Gadsden Finance Serpentine Recreation Reserve court.
At the final whistle the Demons led 59-32 and moved to the top of the ladder after a first-round forfeit from Inglewood.
The Marong Panthers showed they cannot be taken lightly after a nine-goal win against Bridgewater.
It was a closely-fought contest on Marong’s court as the home team took the premiership points in a 44-35 result.
Switched to centre for this match, Brittany Shannon starred for the Panthers as goalshooter Carly Ladson and Sidney Niemann played well for Bridgewater.
The Mitiamo was too strong for Newbridge at Holloway Air Riverside Park in Newbridge.
The Superoos chalked up win number two after a 53-31 result against the Maroons in their first game of the season.
Maiden Gully YCW was up against Inglewood in the lower grades on the Blues’ court, but the Eagles did not play A-grade as Inglewood is not in the league’s top bracket.

Pyramid Hill takes on Bears Lagoon Serpentine at Mitchell Park.
The unbeaten Mitiamo and Marong meet in the battle of second against third at John Forbes Oval, Mitiamo.
Bridgewater takes a break in A-grade, but the Mean Machine will play Inglewood in the lower grades at Bridgewater Recreation Reserve.
Maiden Gully YCW plays Newbridge at Marist College in Maiden Gully.
Calivil United has the bye.
