NORTH Bendigo achieved a long-awaited A-grade netball victory against White Hills in Saturday’s third round in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote DFNL season.
The Kiralee Kinder-coached North Bendigo teamed superbly on the Demons’ court at Winslow Constructors Oval in White Hills to record a 48-37 victory.
The team in red, white and blue had not beaten White Hills in the league’s top grade in nine years.
Although it had not played for a couple of weeks because of the Easter break and then bye, North Bendigo made a brilliant start against the red and black and did not let up.
The Elly Lawton-coached White Hills has the bye next Saturday before it plays at Huntly on May 17.
The great form of the Harlowe Huntly Hawks kept rolling against Elmore.
At half-time it was the Annie Hockey-coached Elmore which led 27-17.
After the break the brown and gold took charge in all thirds of the court.
Huntly won the third term, 15-4, and then closed out the match brilliantly.
The Ashlea Sherlock and Kym Bell-coached Huntly won the last quarter, 11-9, to complete a 43-40 victory.
Colbinabbin charged to a 20-3 lead by quarter-time of its clash on Lockington Bamawm United’s court.
The Jen McIntyre-coached Grasshoppers had goalkeeper Elle Palmer win plenty of rebounds or intercept passes on the way to a 79-24 victory.
It was another tough hit-out for the Kerryn Giorgianni and Shelby Stone-coached LBU.
Mount Pleasant netted a 63-33 victory on its court at Toolleen against Leitchville Gunbower.
The Anthea McCleary-coached Mount Pleasant leads the ladder going into next Saturday’s match at Elmore.
A young Letichville Gunbower team coached by Grant Matthews hosts Colbinabbin at Leitchville next Saturday.
Heathcote had the bye.

Leitchville Gunbower and Colbinabbin clash at Leitchville.
White Hills has the bye.
