PYRAMID Hill took the premiership points and Michael Herrick Memorial Cup after a dominant performance on Marong’s turf in Saturday’s fourth round in Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL senior footy.
The Jarrod Fitzpatrick-coached Pyramid Hill put in a brilliant first half on Marong’s turf at Jackal Trading Oval in Malone Park.
The Bulldogs kept Marong goalless in the first half to be up 58-7 by the long break.
As Pyramid Hill added two goals in the third Marong slotted its first goal.
The Bulldogs led 74-16 going into the final quarter.
The Panthers fought on to win the last, 21-10, but it was Pyramid Hill which sent a warning to all rivals in an 84-37 victory against the reigning premier.
The Bulldogs’ attack was led by Zach Alford and Jhye Baddeley-Kelly on three each.
It was the first time in many matches Marong did not have a multiple goalkicker.
Best for Pyramid Hill were Isaac Brill, Jhye Baddeley-Kelly, Zach Alford, Brodie Carroll, Robby Bartee and Ben Knight.
Richard Tibbett, James Toomey, Jacob Ede, Michael Bradbury, Jimmy Gadsden and Brad Matthews were best for the James Flaherty-coached Panthers.
Inglewood ended its winless run in an emphatic 46-point triumph on home turf at Centre State Scaffolding Oval against Macorna.
After starting with a hat-trick of defeats the Blues were fired up to avoid a fourth.
Macorna led 21-15 at quarter-time, but the Jackson Hood-coached Inglewood took control from then on.
The Blues were up 36-22 by half-time and held a four-goal buffer going into the last.
Inglewood’s pressure did not led up as it scored 5.6 and kept the Tigers to a tally of 2.2 in the final quarter.
Mischa Fraillon capped off many of the Blues moves with six goals as Mitch Pickering slotted two in a 95-49 victory.
Macorna’s leading goalkicker was Dimitri Fasoulis on three.
Best for Inglewood were Liam Marciano, Mischa Fraillon, Bregon Cotchett, Charlie Aitken, Charles Ingham and Tom Kennedy.
The Tigers’ best were Tom Ebbage, Matt Colak, Laing Whinfield, Broden Wishart, Reegan O’Rourke and Sam Whinfield.
An 11-goal haul by coach Lachie Sharp highlighted Bridgewater’s win on Bears Lagoon-Serpentine’s ground at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve.
The Jake Wilkinson-coached Bears started well to lead 27-21 at quarter-time and 48-37 at the long break.
Quarter three was all Bridgewater as it scored 5.8 and kept the Bears to a behind.
By the last change the Mean Machine held a six-goal buffer.
Bridgewater added another six majors in the last on the its way to a 116-65 victory.
Sharp was in superb form once again as Harry Conway kicked two goals.
The Bears’ attack was led by Russell Clark on three as Jaxon Addlem and Farran Priest chipped in with two each.
A list of Bridgewater’s best was not supplied.
The Bears’ best were Charlie Gadsden, Russell Clark, Tyler Miles, Nathan Twigg, Ross Turner and Steve Gladman.
Newbridge marked an eight-goal victory on its turf at Deepcore Drilling Oval in Riverside Park against Calivil United.
The Maroons led 33-14 at quarter-time and 48-28 by the main break.
A 28-point buffer for Newbridge at the start of the final term kept growing as it added 5.1 and kept the Demons to a tally of 1.5.
Caleb Sanders and Brandon Dimech capped superb matches with six and five goals in 99-51 victory.
Tom Wakefield and Corey Walters booted two goals for the Demons.
Best for Newbridge were Caleb Sanders, Brandon Dimech, Jackson Eadon, Jon Coe, Jack McInerney and Zebb Murrell.
Will Allan, Corey Walters, Tyler Rasmussen, Josh Connolly, Zac Tickell and Liam Stephens were best for the Sam Maher-coached Demons.
Maiden Gully YCW Eagles soared past the 150-point mark in its home game against Mitiamo at Marist College Oval.
The Shawn Filo-coached Eagles led 44-2 at quarter-time and then scored another seven goals in the second to be up 89-29 by the long break.
Maiden Gully YCW’s intensity did not ease up as six goals in the third opened up an 84-point lead going into the final term.
Mitiamo’s best quarter was the last as the Luke Lougoon-coached Superoos scored 3.3 and kept the Eagles to a tally of 3.2.
At the final siren Maiden Gully YCW led 151-68.
Mitch Hill and Tyler James both kicked a team-high five goals for the Eagles as Lincoln Hancock and Angus Monfries slotted three each and Tye Bedford and Mitch Whitham added two each.
Mitiamo’s attack was led by Brent Arho on three as Brayden Baines and Bryce Laird both kicked two majors.
Best for Maiden Gully YCW Eagles were Mitch Hill, Lewis Pigdon, Tye Bedford, Tyler James, Luke Gray and Mitch Whitham.
Joey Mizzi, ryan Clark, Lenny Cook, Daniel and Scott Baldwin and Ben Arho played well for Mitiamo.

In the netball……..CALIVIL United and Marong scored upset victories in Saturday’s fourth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Calivil United line-up made its way to Deepcore Drilling Oval in Newbridge’s Riverside Park to take on the Maroons.
A high-scoring and entertaining contest went the way of the Annie Blow and Alex Ingram-coached Demons, 49-46.
The Hayley Martiniello-coached Newbridge went in as favourite on a win-loss tally of two-one.
Calivil United’s run had included a a 43-goal loss at Mitiamo, a two-goal win at Serpentine, and 12-goal loss at home to Marong.
On Saturday it was the red and blue which was able to keep the heat on for longer and capitalise on scoring chances to upset the maroon and white.
At Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park the Marong Panthers faced Pyramid Hill on Michael Herrick Memorial Day.
Both teams passed the 50-goal mark as Marong marked a 54-50 victory.
The Bridget Willox and Bianca Garton-coached Panthers have won their past two matches.
A second defeat meant Pyramid Hill is now fifth in the premiership race on a two-two record.
The Chelsea Emmerson, Amber Dingwall and Darci Tierney-coached Pyramid Hill plays at Calivil next Saturday.
Inglewood bounced back from its first defeat of the season to record a 30-goal win against Macorna on the Blues’ court at Centre State Scaffolding Oval.
The Dani O’Toole-coached Inglewood was up 59-29 when the final sounded.
Was another tough hit-out for the Brooke Allison-coached Macorna in the Tigers first season in the Loddon Valley FNL.
Reigning premier, Mitiamo scored a big win on the Maiden Gully YCW Eagles court at Marist College Oval.

Bears Lagoon-Serpentine was outgunned on its court at Gadsden Finance Serpentine Reserve by Bridgewater.
The Erin Varker-coached Bears battled to halt Bridgewater’s slick passing through all thirds of the court.
At the final siren Bridgewater led 69-19.
Was an ideal tune-up for the Carly Wild and Lou Dupuy-coached Bridgewater rolling into next Saturday’s clash in the Panthers’ den at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
