Pyramid Hill triumphs on Marong’s court

PYRAMID Hill marked its third win of the year when it outplayed Marong in Saturday’s fourth round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.

After a winless run in 2019, Pyramid Hill has made a dramatic improvement.

The team in red, white and blue bounced back from an eight-goal loss at home against Calivil United the previous round to beat the Panthers by 13 goals.

Pyramid Hill achieved a season-high 50 goals on the Panthers’ court at Discover Marong Park in Malone Park.

There were plenty of goals in the clash between Calivil United and Mitiamo at 5 Star Stockfeeds in Mitiamo.

In pursuit of back-to-back premierships, Mitiamo has shown it will be tough to beat in the title race.

The Superoos won 66-50.

Bridgewater was too strong for Newbridge at Simonds Homes Riverside Oval in Newbridge.

The Mean Machine powered to a 51-30 victory.

After being on the sidelines for the opening two rounds – bye and then forfeit from Bears Lagoon Serpentine, Bridgewater has won by margins of 43 and 21 goals.

Inglewood had a rest as Bears Lagoon Serpentine is not fielding an A-grade netball team.

Maiden Gully YCW Eagles had the bye.

Loddon Valley FNL A-grade netball ladder:

Mitiamo 144 per cent, 16 points; Bridgewater 201, 12; Pyramid Hill 138, 12; Maiden Gully YCW Eagles 119, 12; Marong 99, 4; Calivil United 85, 4; Inglewood 55, 4; Newbridge 59, 0.

Highlight of next Saturday’s fifth round will be the showdown between third and fourth as Pyramid Hill hosts Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Mitchell Park.

Bridgewater takes on Calivil United at Laser Plumbing Oval in Bridgewater.

Mitiamo and Marong clash at John Forbes Oval in Superoos territory.

Newbridge plays Bears Lagoon Serpentine in the lower grades at Simonds Homes Riverside Park, but the Maroons have a rest in A-grade.

Inglewood has the bye.
