Pyramid Hill’s hot start rolls on

A BRILLIANT start to the A-grade netball season by Pyramid Hill rolled on in Saturday’s second round of the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley Football Netball League season.

Winless in 2019, Pyramid Hill showed it’s a team to watch this year.

The team in red, white and blue played superb netball on Newbridge’s court at Simonds Homes Riverside Oval to win 47-18.

Closest match of the round was played at 5 Star Stockfeeds Oval in Calivil.

The Calivil United Demons took on Maiden Gully YCW Eagles in a top contest.

At the final whistle it was the Eagles who led 45-42.

After being on the sidelines in round one, Mitiamo marked its return to the court in style.

The Superoos were too strong for Inglewood at John Forbes Oval.

Mitiamo won 61-38.

After a bye in round one, Bridgewater’s campaign in A-grade is yet to start  as the team was drawn to play at Serpentine on Saturday.

Bears Lagoon Serpentine is not fielding an A-grade team.

Marong had the bye.

Standings in the LVFNL’s A-grade netball competition:

Pyramid Hill 195 per cent, 8 points; Mitiamo 160, 8; Maiden Gully YCW Eagles 124, 8; Marong 138, 4; Bridgewater 0, 4; Calivil United 80, 0; Inglewood 64, 0; Newbridge 55, 0.

A lengthy wait for Bridgewater’s season to start will be ended next Saturday when it plays Inglewood at Laser Plumbing Oval in Bridgewater.

Mitiamo plays Newbridge at John Forbes Oval

Maiden Gully YCW Eagles meets Marong in the battle of the neighbours at Marist College Oval.
