Return to Community Netball Guidelines Released

Netball Victoria has released the updated Return to Community Netball guidelines, following the recent Victorian Government announcements regarding the lifting of some COVID-19 restrictions.

From last Monday, 22 June:

  • Indoor venues could open for the purpose of sport and recreation;
  • People under the age of 18 were able to resume full contact training and competition, at both indoor and outdoor venues;
  • Adults 18 years and over could participate in non-contact training in groups of up to 20 – plus a coach – at both indoor and outdoor venues.

Adults will have to wait a little longer to return to competition.  We expect further clarification on this in July.

Netball Victoria Affiliates and Clubs are required to adhere to the Return to Community Netball guidelines.  Naturally, we will continue to prioritise the health and wellbeing of both the individuals involved our sport, as well as the wider community as we work toward a safe return to training and competition in this new COVID-19 environment.

For further advice on how your Association or Club can return to play, please contact participation@netballvic.com.au.

Further announcements around the easing of restrictions, including the return to competition details for adults, will be made in July, pending further government announcements.

Participants should not return to netball if, in the last 14 days, they have been unwell or have had close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19.  We encourage everyone to maintain physical distancing and keep up good personal health and hygiene practices.
