Smaller clubs keep on marking victories

THE smaller clubs across the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Junior Football League keep on performing well each round.

In last weekend’s round 10 action, Rochester was represented by three teams.

The Tigers roared in the under-12 Girls, under-14A, and under-16A competitions.

Rochester’s under-16A team made its way to Kangaroo Flat’s ground at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park.

A top contest went the Kangaroos’ way, 47-41.

Scores were locked on 28-all going into the final term, but it was the Roos which finished the stronger by scoring 3.1 as the Tigers added 2.1.

Goalkickers for Rochester were Asher Rasmussen and Oliver Seamer on two as Makore Dickinson and Mason Mundie were also on target.

Best for the Tigers were Asher Rasmussen, Mason Mundie, Reno Mountjoy, Harry Rasmussen, Oliver Seamer and Hugh Acocks.

Rochester took on Golden Square in the under-14A match at Gourmet Pantry Oval in Golden Square’s Wade Street.

The Bulldogs beat the Tigers, 68-28.

Harrison Wilkins kicked three goals for Rochester as Cooper Rasmussen added another.

Best for the Tigers were Maddox Parker, Trey Hayes, Archer Watson, Walt James, Cooper Rasmussen and Harrison Wilkins.

First up for Rochester was the under-12 Girls team which played on Friday night against Strathfieldsaye.

The Tigers dominated on their ground at Windridge Oval to record an 89-nil victory.

Frankie Hay kicked six goals to earn best afield honours as Ella Forde slotted three goals.

Rochester’s best were Frankie Hay, Ella Forde, Mackenzie Harvey, Ellie Riordan, Sophie Godden and Talisa Sinclair.

It was a bye for Rochester’s under-15 Girls team.

The Tigers will be on their turf at Windridge Oval for this Sunday’s showdown with South Bendigo from 11.15am.

Heathcote marked its eighth victory in the under-12D competition.

The Saints led 26-12 at half-time of their match on Kangaroo Flat’s ground at Bendigo Mazda Oval in Dower Park.

Kangaroo Flat bounced back to win the third quarter, 12-8, but Heathcote won the last, 6-3.

At the final siren the Saints led 40-27.

Goalkickers for Heathcote were Josh Vanzin on three as Taj Barrett, Jax Buccella and Ryder Marks kicked one each.

Best for the Saints were Lincoln Jorgensen, Jett Formosa, Taj Barrett, Josh Vanzin and Sid Zoch.

Quarry Hill scored a 45-point win against St Therese’s in their under-12C match.

The Demons and Sharks played at Ken Wust Reserve in Quarry Hill.

Scores were six-all at quarter-time and 16-14 in favour of Quarry Hill at the long break.

As the Demons added 4.2 in the third the Sharks replied with 2.2.

Quarry Hill kicked four goals in the last and kept St Therese’s scoreless on the way to a 73-28 victory.

The Demon’s attack was led by Tommy Shannon with four goals as Rafferty Creak and Reuben White slotted two each and Jarvis Condely and Campbell Martin were also on target.

Best for Quarry Hill were Reuben White, Logan Booth, Sid Freemantle, Tommy Shannon, Rafferty Creak and Atticus McAllan.

It was a one-one record for Mount Pleasant across the weekend’s play.

The Blues took on South Bendigo in the under-12D match at Toolleen.

Mount Pleasant led 25-nil at half-time and then scored three goals in the third and six in the last.

At the final siren the Blues were up 83-9.

The Mounts’ attack was led by Brock Checkley, Judd Dodson and Murray Valente on three goals each.

Kirby Black booted two goals as Hudson Marks and Tyler Walsh added a major.

Best for Mounts were Kirby Black, Emma Brown, Tyler Walsh, Murray Valente, Harlan Sanders and Charlee Lampard.

On Sunday the Blues played White Hills in the under-15 Girls match at the White Hills ground in Scott Street.

A great match ended in a 21-17 win for the Demons.

Drew Browne and Georgia Wings goaled for Mount Pleasant.

Best for the Blues were Remmi Comer, Jayda Bowyer, Frankie James, Sydney Ticehurst, Eva Tsiorlas and Josephine Martin.

North Bendigo is represented by four teams this season.

It was a top under-14B match between North Bendigo and Maiden Gully YCW Eagles at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.

The Eagles led 44-27 at half-time and 58-36 going into the final term.

North Bendigo fought back to win the last, 16-8, but it was the Eagles who claimed a 66-52 victory.

Goalkickers for the Bulldogs were Aiden West on three as Riley Thompson kicked two and Baiiden Benbow and Rhiley Carter slotted a goal.

Best for North Bendigo were Jaxon Kerr, Aiden West, Seth Booyens, Harrison and Lincoln Reid, and Riley Thompson.

North Bendigo was at home for the under-15 Girls match on Sunday against Strathfieldsaye.

The Storm line-up won 90-6.

Best for North Bendigo were Shibah Htoo, Ruby Robinson, Helena Pearce-Kennedy, Lilly Chmil, Skye-Louise Jessup and Maddison Morgan.

The Bulldogs were on home turf at Bendigo Club Oval for the under-12B match against White Hills.

A red-hot Demons beat the Bulldogs, 109-nil.

Best for North Bendigo were Kacee Borserio, Levi Benbow, Archie Flaherty, Jaxson Beer, Hunter James and Kaylee Downes.

It was a tough hit-out for North Bendigo in the under-16B match against Golden Square.

The all-Bulldogs clash was at Bendigo Club Oval.

Golden Square racked up 43 scoring shots on its way to a 163-10 victory.

Ethan Miller goaled for North Bendigo in the third quarter.

Best for North Bendigo were Cooper Myers, Jett Mulcahy, Rhiley Carter, Dustan Hetherton and Liam Kerr.
