MITIAMO won a closely-fought duel with Newbridge in Saturday’s sixth round of A-grade netball in the Bendigo Bank Loddon Valley FNL season.
The Abbey Battersby and Jess Kaur-coached Mitiamo was on its court at John Forbes Oval to face the Maroons.
A great match ended in a 57-53 win for Mitiamo.
Chasing back-to-back premierships, Mitiamo is the only unbeaten A-grade team.
Although disappointed not to have ended the Superoos’ streak, Newbridge will have gained plenty of confidence against the competition benchmark.
The Maroons are coached by Selina Holland and Kristy Gandy.
Bears-Lagoon Serpentine kept in touch with the top five as it scored a seven-goal win against Maiden Gully Eagles.
The Danielle O’Toole and Lara Clements-coached Bears won 53-46 against an Eagles team coached by Leisa Barry.
There were big wins for Bridgewater and Pyramid Hill this round.
Both teams scored 75 goals.
The Caz Wood and Olivia Hoiles-coached Bridgewater dominated play on its court to score a 75-44 win against the Cindy Portwine-coached Calivil United.
Pyramid Hill was in hot form on its court at Mitchell Park against Inglewood.
The Bulldogs won 75-26 against the Caitlyn Cartwright-coached Blues.
This season Pyramid Hill is being coached by Chelsea Emmerson, Simone Edgley and Laura Herbert.
Marong had the bye.

Marong plays Maiden Gully YCW Eagles in the Panthers’ den at Jackal Oval in Marong’s Malone Park.
Calivil United will be at home against Inglewood.
Pyramid Hill has the bye.
