WOORINEN outplayed Cohuna Kangas in Saturday’s 12th round in Radio 3SH-backed Central Murray FNL senior footy.
The Tigers and Kangas clashed at Woorinen Recreation Reserve.
Although it had one less scoring shot, Woorien led 26-17 at quarter-time.
The Tim Free-coached Tigers dominated most of the second as they scored 2.6 and kept Cohuna to a behind.
Cohuna struck back to be within 21 points going into the final term.
The Tigers had the answers to the Kangas’ challenge as they scored 4.3 as the visitors added 3.2.
At the final siren the reigning premier led 85-57.
The Tigers’ attack was led by Will Collicoat, Sam Hilton-Joyce and Jose Miliado on three goals each.
Riley Hird kicked three goals for the Kangas.
Best for Woorinen were Rhys Cason, Oscar Lewis, Jye Barry, Kane and Blake Reid, and Will Collicaot.
Cohuna’s best were Chris Anderson, Brady Hore, coach Jack Geary, Charlie Ford, Kyle Monaghan and Ricky Monti.
Kerang fought from eight points down at the start of the last quarter to claim a 62-57 victory against Swan Hill at Kerang’s Riverside Park.
The Brad Pay-coached Kerang was up 35-24 at half-time, but the Swans dominated the third term to score 4.3 as the Blues added 1.2.
Although it racked up an inaccurate 2.7 in the last, Kerang was able to outscore the Swans by 13 points.
Zak Bozanich and Liam Jardine kicked two goals each for Kerang.
Liam Thornton hit a match-high three goals for the Jason Murphy-coached Swans.
Best for Kerang were Martin Kelly, Bohden McKnight, Cody Makeham, Liam Jardine, Ian Fisher and Jack Sullivan.
Swan Hill’s best were Matt Gilbee, Xavier Moloney, Sam Brown, Tom Holdstock, Lane Cardenas and Noah Angus.
Nyah Nyah West United dominated its home game against Hay to win by 70 points.
The Corey Daniels-coached NNWU Demons raced to a 33-7 lead by quarter-time and did not ease up.
By half-time NNWU was up 48-12.
The Demons scored four goals in the third as the Lions were held to a tally of two behinds.
Jordan Johnston and Liam White kicked three and two goals in a 92-22 victory.
The Demons worked incredibly hard to hold the Lions to just two goals.
Best for Nyah Nyah West United were Scott Carlin, Zack Threadgold, Nash Richman, Jordan Johnston, Corey Daniels and Joel Walsh.
Was a tough afternoon for Hay in which Jim Houston, Fergus Cattanach, James Lugsdin, Jack Cattanach, Joel Crocker and Dan Jamieson were best.
The Lions are jointly coached by Mick Cattanach and James Moran.
Lake Boga stunned Ultima to score a 91-46 victory.
Scores were 14-all at quarter-time before Lake Boga kicked clear in the second.
As the Magpies added 4.1 they kept Storm to a tally of 1.4.
A 15-point buffer for Lake Boga at half-time became seven goals at a quarter to play after the Magpies swooped to score five goals in the third.
The Magpies won the last, 19-16, on their way to a 45-point victory.
The classy Braden Padmore kicked seven goals to be best afield for Lake Boga as Nathaniel Holmes-Brown chipped in with three majors.
Corey Grey kicked three goals for Ultima.
Best for the Dean Helmers-coached Lake Boga were Braden Padmore, Xavier Sherlock, Marty Parsons, Codie Anderson, Patrick Bryan and Kamen Ogilvie.
Sol Kelly, Tiger Vearing, Darcy Farrell, Corey Grey, Cameron Johnson and coach Joel Donnan were Ultima’s best.
Balranald marked a 58-point win against Tyntynder at Swan Hill’s Alan Garden Reserve.
The Brent Macleod-coached Balranald led 39-13 at quarter-time and 52-30 by the long break.
Three goals in the third as it kept the Bulldogs to a tally of four behinds gave the Kangaroos a 41-point buffer going into the last term.
Balranald won the last, 28-11, to complete a 103-45 victory.
Ben Fuller capped a great match with six goals as Ben Brett and Ian Fuller added three each.
Best for the Kangaroos were Tom Salau, Ian Fuller, Ryan Middlebrook, Kane Agius and Lucas Griffiths.
Tyntynder’s best were Elia Ware, Harry Simpson, Josh Potter, Sam Bull, Patrick Crowe and Tate Hulland.
The Bulldogs are coached by Darcy Bibby.
Koondrook Barham dominated the opening half of its clash with Moulamein in Barham.
The Marcus Demaria-coached River Raiders scored 7.13 in the first half as the Swans were held to a score of 1.3.
As the KB team added four goals in the third Moulamein added its second goal of the contest.
The Swans worked hard to win the final term, 26-19, but it was Koondrook Barham which led 100-44 at the siren.
Clayton McCartney kicked four goals for the River Raiders as Harry Bremner booted three and Liam Read and Jack Shannon chipped in with two each.
The Swans’ attack was led by Ely Miller and Haydn Slater on two goals.
Best for Koondrook Barham were Thomas German, Liam Read, Harry Bremner, Jack Poulton, Cameron Anderson and Jack Thomas.
Moulamein’s best were Xander Hartland, Ely Miller, Morgan Turvey, Will Mertz, Tobie Richardson and Haydn Slater.
The Swans are jointly coached by Brodie Tonkin and Hayden Dalitz.
Tooleybuc Manangatang hit the 200-point mark in its clash with Wandella in Manangatang.
The Saints led 37-16 at quarter-time and then slammed on nine goals in the second to lead 93-25 at the main break.
An 11-goal haul by Tooleybuc Manangatang in the third term was followed by six in the last.
Josh Chatfield kicked 13 goals in the 200-40 victory.
Co-coach Nayef Hamad slotted five goals as Luke McComb kicked three.
The Saints also had Connor and Kallum Hazlett, and co-coach Robbie McComb kick two goals each.
Wandella’s attack was led by Jaspa Chamberlain on two.
Best for Tooleybuc Manangatang were Josh Chatfield, Gareth Grant, Nayef Hamad, Robbie McComb, Lochlan Prentice and Nick Ryan.
Darcy Ramage, Tynan Dove, Nathan Boysen, coach Justin Robinson, Gregor Knight and Tye Colville were the Bombers’ best.
Mallee Eagles soared to a 219-point win against Murrabit in Lalbert.
The Eagles scored 34.23 and kept the Blues to a goal.
Darcy Hourigan led Mallee’s attack on seven goals as Jonah Devlin, Shaun Harrison, Cody Henness and Jacob O’Meara kicked four each.
A lengthy goalkicking list included Marcus Wattie, three; coach Harry Allen, Zac O’Meara and Toby Sheahan, two.
Murrabit captain Bryden Morison was on target.
Best for the Eagles were Toby Sheahan, Isaiah Bull, Shaun Harrison, Jared Greenbank, Cody Henness and Darcy Hourigan.
The Blues’ best were Sam Copland, Bailey Pengelly, Adam Thomson, Bryden Morison, Matt Moon and Jackson Brady.
