Vital games on Huntly, White Hills courts

CRUCIAL matches will be played on the Huntly and White Hills courts in this Saturday’s 10th round of A-grade netball action in the Bendigo Bank Heathcote District Football Netball League.

Results of the showdowns at Specialist Breeders Australia Oval in Huntly’s Strauch Reserve and at Tint-A-Car in Scott Street will have a major bearing on the aspirations of Colbinabbin, Huntly, White Hills and North Bendigo.

It’s third against second as Huntly hosts Colbinabbin.

In round three, Colbo beat the Hawks by 18 goals at M.J. Morgan Reserve.

Huntly played inspired netball to score a seven-goal win against White Hills in last Saturday’s home game.

Colbinabbin won by 14 goals on Mount Pleasant’s court at Toolleen, but the Grasshoppers will not take the Hawks lightly.

Stung by a three-goal loss at home to White Hills in round three, North Bendigo will be fired up.

The red, white and blue has a chance to climb to the third rung or could slide to fifth.

North Bendigo won by 18 goals at Lockington last round, but White Hills is a much tougher prospect.

The Cats and Blues meet at Nichol Trading Oval in Lockington where Lockington Bamawm United plays Mount Pleasant.

A win is crucial for Mounts to stay in touch with or perhaps climb into the top five.

When these clubs last met, Mounts won by 14 goals at Toolleen.

Leitchville Gunbower has sights on win number two when it plays Heathcote at Degroot Roof Painting Gunbower Recreation Reserve.

In round three the Saints beat the Bombers by 13 goals at Pigeon Park in Heathcote’s Barrack Reserve.

The Saints will start favourite, but the LG line-up is fresh from the bye.

Leitchville Gunbower’s past two hit-outs were a four-goal victory at Lockington and 35-44 result at home to the Huntly Hawks at Leitchville.

The unbeaten Elmore has the bye.

Standings in the Heathcote DFNL’s A-grade netball competition:

Elmore 199 per cent, 36 points; Colbinabbin 156, 28; Huntly 109, 20; North Bendigo 96, 20; White Hills 107, 18; Mount Pleasant 103, 14; Heathcote 66, 8; Leitchville Gunbower 51, 4; Lockington Bamawm United 55, 0.
