WEDDERBURN took the points, but had to work hard against Boort in Saturday’s 12th round in Goldacres North Central senior footy.
The Tom Metherell-coached Wedderburn led 28-23 at quarter-time at Boort Park and then gained a three-goal buffer as it scored 3.2 in the seond and kept the Magpies to a major.
As the Redbacks added five goals in the third, Boort answered with three goals.
The Andrew Rutley-coached Boort kept working hard and won the last, 19-9.
Wedderburn’s unbeaten run stayed intact as the Redbacks were up 89-63 at the final siren.
Tom Campbell and Oscar Holt led Wedderburn’s attack on three goals each as Joe Lockhart kicked two.
Leading goalkicker for Boort was Jack Smith on a match-high five.
Best for Wedderburn were Oscar Holt, Joe Lockhart, Zach Pallpratt, Noah Furlong, Tom Campbell and Hamish Lockhart.

Donald hosted Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers.
The Tigers charged to a 38-8 lead by quarter-time and were up 63-28 by the long break.
Sea Lake Nandaly won the next two terms by margins of 23 and six points.
At the final siren the Boyd Bailey and Wade Donnan-coached Tigers led 130-56.
The Tigers’ attack was led by Boyd Bailey and Billy McInnes on four goals each as Max Cahoon and Adam Pattison kicked three apiece and Bryce Delmenico added two.
Leading goalkickers for Donald were Blake Grant and Lachlan Sneddon with two each.

Calder United dominated the Mount Of Prevention (Respect) Cup match at Charlton Park to win by 30 goals.
The reigning premier surged to a 50-2 lead by quarter-time and then added another eight goals in the second to be up 106-9 at the long break.
Seven goals by the Lions in the third was followed by 10 in the last.
Dale Pearce was in superb touch as he kicked 13 goals in the 212-32 victory.
Other multiple goalkickers for Calder United were Steven Stroobants, seven; Mitch Farmer, four; Rylee Smith, three; Rick Allan and Justin Laird, two.
Charlton coach Carl Thiesz led the Navies’ attack on two goals.

It was a 26-point margin at St Arnaud’s Lord Nelson Park where the Saints took on Birchip-Watchem.
The Birchip-Watchem team led 16-7 at quarter-time and 38-22 by the main break.
St Arnaud worked hard to win the third term, 15-10.
The Ash Connick-coached Bulls lifted in the last to score 5.6 as the Saints added 3.3.
At the final siren Birchip-Watchem led 84-58.
Ricardo Liparota led the Bulls’ attack on three goals as Lachy Foott and Joseph Reid kicked two each.
The Saints’ leading goalkicker was Lucas Bridger on two.
Best for the Bulls were Heath Smith, Zane Connick, Meyrick Buchanan, Harry Cook, Angus Butterfield and Joseph Madio.
St Arnaud’s best were Joe Maishman, Sean Holroyd, Nick Maishman, Harrison Saunders, Oliver Rogers and Jay Kirwood.
